Dr. Susanne Hewitt is a board certified and fellowship trained Ophthalmologist who specializes in cataract surgery, refractive surgery including LASIK and PRK, corneal transplantation, and management of complex corneal disease. A native of Florida, Dr. Hewitt has been serving patients in the Roswell, Alpharetta, and Cumming area for over 20 years.

In her free time, Dr. Hewitt enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and daughter, as well as traveling, reading, exercising, and attending concerts.

State-of-the-art treatments and technology

Dr. Hewitt specializes in the surgical treatment of cataracts and the use of premium lens technology including toric (astigmatism correcting), multifocal, and extended depth of focus lenses. In addition, Dr. Hewitt performs laser assisted cataract surgery for patients who desire this option. She offers refractive surgery including LASIK and PRK to patients who are looking to get out of their glasses or contacts. In addition, she provides medical and surgical care for patients with advanced corneal diseases such as keratoconus, corneal scars, pterygium, corneal dystrophies, and severe dry eye.

Dr. Hewitt is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refraction Surgeons. She is currently on staff at Northside Hospital. In addition to maintaining her full clinical practice, she also supervises and teaches trainees in the operating room at the Atlanta VA Medical Center.
